Australian Sparkling Ale

Just a quick post in regards to Australian Sparkling Ale as a beer style. Does anyone know if any American or British breweries are producing beers of this great style?

I'd imagine not. Neither the BJCP, or GABF recognize the style.

Jamil did do a brewcast on the style. Just because it is not BJCP does not mean it does not exist!

Tim,

A good article on the style in the latest Beer and Brewer magazine. As it happens I have had three or four Australian Ales over the past week - Bridge Road, Barons Summer Ale, Cooper's - it's becoming popular as it is very drinkable but has more interest and flavour than mainstream swill.

Cheers

Hi PP,
Have you had the Aussie Sparkling from Stone & Wood brewing yet? Apparently they use galaxy hops instead of POR. Sounds like a top drop. I think the brewpub in Warnamble has one, and then there is the James Squire Governer king as well.
It should be popular as it's simple to brew!

Thinking about it, Bavarian Dampfbier is pretty similar to Sparkling ale

Tim,
Haven't found the Stone & Wood yet - their stuff is only recently about and mostly on tap in the local area. Maybe available later in the year.
