Franziskaner Weissbier
I think Franziskaner Weissbier is the last of the big Bavarian wheat beers that I had yet to have in 2008. I had at some point or another managed to stumble over the rest! Anyhow, I located this particular offering in my hotel bar. Once again, while the rest of the out-laws got stuckin to hot chocolate, I held true and went for a beer. I am pretty sure this was a Christmas beer and it was still snowing outside. I think it tasted nice, but I was suitably lubed up by this point! http://www.franziskaner.com/Labels: Ale, Christmas, Franziskaner, Hefe Weissbier, Salzburg

This was my favourite beer when I first got into decent beer. I still love it now for this reason. Erdinger Dunkel, you spoke of in an earlier post was another favourite of mine, but it hasn't stood the test of time sadly.
Wheat beer is always my favourite, Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr, LowenBrau and Weihenstephen... all my favourite...
Wheat goes nice with sausage and pork too... good pairing!
Hi there - I am looking to find a late opening bar in London that sells Wheat Beers.. Franziskaner, Hoegaarden etc. All late bars that I have been to seem to serve only cocktails or regular lagers.. I live close to Brook Green (W14) but have visitors over from Dublin this weekend who are avid wheat beer drinkers. You can get late wheat beer everywhere in dublin.. what about London ?! Thanks, David
I'm not sure about late bar's as such as it's not really my scene, but The Goldhawk on Goldhawk Rd specialise in german beers and have a couple of Wheatbeers and Kuppers Kolsch on tap.
Sorry I couldnt be more helpful!
There is a pub close to Russel Square, London that sells Franziskiner. Named "The Markques" i think.. just google map it.
