Tesco Select IPA
When the new Tesco beer selection hit the shelves the week before last, one of the new additions was Tesco Select IPA (5% abv). I bought it and gave it a go!The label does not really carry much information on the beer, so I have no idea who made it, or where it was brewed.
Now the beer, ok it was bitter and had all the tastes an IPA should have, although it did tend to border on a boring interpretation of the style. if it was a great beer I would be raving about it, but when compared to such awesome beers as Brew Dog's Punk IPA, or Sharp's Atlantic IPA it just doesn't stack up. But then again it is better than Tesco Value lager!

CB,
I'd be interested to find out if they are contract brewing for themselves or if they are just re-labelling another brewery's beer. Woolworth's over here has just got into brewing through Independent Distillers (who make a lot of brews for a lot of labels and brewing companies) and it seems this might be the way of the future for the supermarkets(?).
I'll keep you up to speed if I find out anything else.
Cheers,
PP
Hi Prof.P, I am pretty sure that it is a beer from a small independent that has been selected by Tesco for inclusion in there range. They do that quite a bit.
They tend to do it mostly with French wines and soemtiems even Asutralian wines!
Misteh CB-
In regards to my Landlord clone, watch me shine. I would love for one of you know-it-all's to taste my beers. I don't fuck around. Due to various variables, it is impossible to duplicate a recipe. But, in saying that, it's possible to get very, very close. That's what I plan to do.
Oh, and another thing.... "Duval" is spelled, Duvel.
Thanks, Duvel it is.
