Nastro Azzuro

Peroni also produce a "premium" beer called Nastro Azzuro (5.2% abv) which is more of the classic pilsner style with a much more pronounced crispness and bitterness than the regular Peroni. I actually prefer the original Peroni in the red bottle to the supposedly superior Nastro Azzuro. I am not going to comment much more on this beer as basically you can get it everywhere in the UK now and its not very exciting, and its usually really overpriced and consumed by wannabe pretentious suit types! When I was in Italy, I had Nasto Azzuro from a tap. I think it greatly improved the flavour. Admittedly, it was a hot day, and so my fond memory of that drink is probably based on it quenching a very large thirst. :-)

I don't think that Nastro Azzuro is necessarily a bad beer, but I wouldnt say that it is a particularly exciting one either!
