Tesco pickup - sounds like a bad dating scene.
I have to agree with you that the beer is drinkable, but not enough to make you want to rush out and tell anyone about it. I have found that the variety of beers in most supermarkets (and off licensces) is quite small, seemingly marketing a couple of brands heavily. There is definitely a need for more specialist beer shops like the excellent Utobeer in Borough Market.
